B.K. Barclay is a Scottish-based, crime-obsessed former researcher who has written for a living all his adult life. Much of his work took him into prisons, and brought him into contact with the police and both victims and perpetrators of crime. The research done for this novel brought home to him that, although much seems to have changed in 100 years, many of the most fundamental problems are unchanged. While there is greed, there will be crime. While there is crime, there will be winners and losers. While there are winners and losers, there will be those whose calling is to maintain law and order in the pursuit of fairness and justice. Veritas is his first published novel.
